Barry Mount graduated in 1969 from the University of Oregon Law School where he was on the Board of Editors of the Oregon Law Review. He then served four years as a trial attorney in Judge Advocate General's Corps in the U.S. Navy.

Since starting his practice in 1974, Barry has concentrated on insurance defense and coverage matters, products liability, professional malpractice defense, securities law, environmental and commercial litigation.
