Defense Verdict
August 2008

Mark Hiefield and Jennifer Durham received a defense verdict in a premature cremation case. The plaintiffs sought $3 million in damages against Bodyfelt Mount's client, the funeral home. After a three-day trial, the jury found that the funeral home was not liable. The jury awarded the plaintiffs $48,000 against the co-defendant crematorium, which admitted its mistake.

July 2008

Deanna Wray, Mark Hiefield and Andrew Glascock participated in the Children's Hope Classic golf tournament, raising funds for the Children's Oncology Group. Nannette Ford volunteered at the tournament. Mark and Andrew's team won the 9 hole contest. 

 

 

OADC Summer Conference

June 2008

Bodyfelt Mount had another great turn-out at this year's OADC Summer Conference.  Jeff Hill was a speaker at the conference.  Others (including Jodie and Andrew) participated in the golf tournament. 

 

New Faces at Bodyfelt Mount
May 2008

A walk through Bodyfelt Mount's office shows the dynamic nature of this firm. Not only is a construction crew adding new offices but there are new faces as well.

Heather Bowman graduated from the University of Washington School of Law and joins the firm as an attorney. Outside of work, Heather's interests include yoga and knitting.

Nik Chourey sits in one of the new offices. Nik, who graduated from Willamette School of Law, also joins Bodyfelt Mount as an attorney. Nik enjoys working in his vegetable garden and spending time with his dog.

Erika George brings over 10 years experience as an attorney to Bodyfelt Mount, in which most of her practice involved civil litigation. Erika spends her free time with her family.

 

Jennifer Promotes Professionalism
April 2008

On April 23, Jennifer Durham spoke at the MBA's Professionalism Training Program along with Judge Acosta, Carl Neil, and Ruth Pekelder. The goal of their panel was to provide attendees direction regarding what is considered "professional" and "unprofessional" and to generally promote professionalism in our legal community.

 

Rebuilding Together - Another Successful Year
April 2008

Once again, Bodyfelt Mount participated in Rebuilding Together's Christmas in April progam. 15 members of Bodyfelt Mount helped renovate a wonderful lady's home by adding a handrail to her basement and painting the exterior of her home. Thank you for everyone's hard work. It was a blast!

 

Welcome Jill
April 2008
Jill Roberts recently joined Bodyfelt Mount's team as a paralegal. Jill came to Bodyfelt Mount from another insurance defense firm, after she dabbled in plaintiff and criminal defense work. Jill really enjoys working in the legal field, especially insurance defense. She also loves living in Portland and spends time working on projects at home, kayaking, camping, boating, reading and hanging out in NE Portland with her partner and various pets.

Bodyfelt Mount is thrilled that the Multnomah Bar Association Young Lawyers Section appointed Jennifer Durham as a candidate for election to the YLS board next year. Jennifer earned the appointment through her commitment and tremendous leadership skills. We know who Bodyfelt Mount will be voting for during this election. Best of luck, Jennifer.

 

Bodyfelt Mount Leaves an Imprint
April 2008

Pam Stendahl, Jennifer Durham, Vicki Smith and Alaina Birkland are participating in the MBA's Imprint Program. The program pairs students from a local middle and high school with attorneys. The students and the attorneys read the same novel and write letters to each other about the novel and then meet at the end of the student's class year.

 

Kimberley is Engaged
February 2008

A big congratulations to Kimberley Pittman on her engagement to Jimmy Yeoh. They will exchange vows on the island of Penang, Malaysia. Bodyfelt Mount wishes them a beautiful ceremony and the best of luck.

 

Vicki Assumes New Position with OADC
